Are you kidding me?

So Mike and I were watching Barack Obama's acceptence speech (keep your friends close and your enemies closer) and this is what I heard Barack Obama saying.
"It isn't that John McCain doesn't care it's that he doesn't get it". He goes on to say that "if you're out of work republicans say tough luck your on your own. No health care the market will fix it you're on your own. Born into poverty pull yourself up by your own bootstraps even if you don't have boots".
For the first 7 1/2 years of Bush's administration the economy was doing as good as it's ever done until 6 months ago when congress went democratic did the economy take a dive.
I guess I just don't get why everything is the governments fault and why we have to look to them to fix everything. I think people need to take responsibilty and do what they can to make things better for themselves and people around them. If you thik going green is going to help the universe please do it. If you think raising your children to be honest and hard workers please do it. But don't blame anyone but yourself if things don't turn out the way you want them to.

Couldn't agree with you more. I have a friend who is for socialized medicine just because she pays a lot for insurance for their family of 4 because they are self-employed and have to get private insurance! Well, don't have 2 kids or don't take advantage of the self-employment tax benefits. Take your pick. Right?

You should run for mayor of Smithfield. Also, a co-worker told me that she cried during that speech. And for the record, the only thing I'm for socializing is cars. Everyone gets a PT Cruiser and it only comes in orange and chartreuse.

Amen Sister! The society as a whole thinks that the government is the problem and solution to everything. It drives me nuts. But yet they want the government to stay out of their personal lives. I just don't get it.

Amen!!

Last night the convention was so great. Giuliani was killing me, hilarious. And I am loving Sarah Palin.
