Frustrated!!!

Since last Wednesday Chase has been throwing up and has had way bad diarrhia. I'm getting sick of cleaning it up but I can handle that. What I can't handle is Chase constantly wanting to be held, and not eating, and not sleeping. I mean how long can this last for? We are in the middle of switching insurance so I don't have a Doctor right now, so I decided to take him to the urgent care...BAD idea. I was there for an hour waiting for them to call us back and then another hour in the room waiting for someone to see us. Meanwhile Chase is having a fit. He doesn't want to be held and then he doesn't want to be put down. He hasn't eaten all day and he missed his nap so he was WAY cranky. Anyways there we are for 2 hours Chase is freakin out so I just left. I'm so frustrated. I hope he just gets better from here on out cause I can't handle this.

If he is still sick tomorrow, you should take him to your normal doctor. Doctor visit are usual $115-$120 dollars and most doctors will give you a 15-20% break for cash paying patients. Urgent care is normally more expensive. Does he have a fever? If he has had a fever for over 5 days straight he should really be seen asap. I hope this ends soon. I know that there is a bad flu going around, but you just have to be careful because sometimes we think something is just the flu and it's not. So hard in children, because you don't know how they really feel. OK enough of Dr. Alexis. I love ya, let us know what happens. XOXO Lex

Oh man...you poor thing! It's so draining to have your kids so needy. Nate's been like that lately, too but I can't complain because at least he isn't throwing up.

Let me know if you just need a break. I'll hold him for a while. :)

I am so sorry. Maybe you both need a blessing! Lauryn has been sick with a cold the last couple of days, and she asked Ryan for a blessing this morning. Usually when one of the kids is sick (like you have there) Ryan gives the sick one a blessing, the not sick one a blessing to not get sick and then me a blessing to deal with it. Just a thought.

ok, you have it worse than I did then. Noah had diarhea for almost a week and a bad fever, just as he got over it Carlaya got a fever and was throwing up for 2 1/2 days. But at least neither had both puke and diarhea! I feel for ya, it's hard to be the only comfort for them. Wears you out for sure!

I'm so sorry for you both. I hate it when they are in so much pain and there is nothing you can really do but try to comfort theme. Good Luck! I hope he gets better soon.

Sorry, Michelle. This is the hardest thing w/ kids. Hope Chasers feels better and Connor stays healthy. I hate going to Urgent care b/c there is always something more urgent than you and so they just keep pushing you back on their list. Good luck and just know it will pass soon!

Abby had about 6 days of throwing everything up. We got some anti vomiting pills that weren't covered by our insurance and they were 15 per pill, but so worth it. You can cut in in half and get about 6 hours of them holding things down (I split it up between 2 days) and it helped get her over whatever it was she had. No one else in the family got what she had.

It is so hard when they are sick like that. Those are the times that remind us our kids are more important than anything else on our to do list. So at the end of the day if our house is a mess if what we had planned didn't go right....you did the best thing and the right thing, you took care of your child. On my to do list when my kids are sick; on #1, I put take care of Jayci (or who ever is sick at the time). Almost like giving yourself permission to let go of the rest. You are so tough to keep with it. You are a great Mom!
